Remembering 2013

2013 has been an incredible year filled with many highs and lows.

We again rang in the New Year at our dear friend's house.  It is a tradition that we thoroughly enjoy!

Spring  brought another adventure...  Janna captured her first 1 at State Choral Competition at MU.  It was an incredible time and we are so proud.  Then we followed her up to audition for NWMSU vocal scholarship.

From spring through autumn, we enjoyed many Thunder basketball tournaments and even got to travel on mini vacations to Branson and Wichita.  Thunder even managed to take home the championship in Branson.  Go Thunder!

We enjoyed many family moments together with our kiddos, family and dear friends.

May brought graduation and many festivities as we celebrated our girl's high school graduation.

Summer brought us many trips to the golf course and of course our youngest learning to drive.  I am happy to report he passed his driving test on his 16th birthday, so we have another driver in the household.

August we moved our girl into college a little over an hour away.  She auditioned and made both of the two top choirs there.  Autumn weekends found us at NWMSU cheering on the Bearcats and hearing our daughter perform.  We are so proud of the woman that she is becoming.

September brought us news that my "other" dad, the one who raised us as his own since we were three was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.  This journey has been so very difficult.  He has either been hospitalized or in a skilled nursing facility since October.  We hope to bring him home after the New Year.

Earlier this year, I was promoted to Sales Administrator.  I thoroughly enjoy it and the great guys I work with.  June saw me travel for work to New Orleans.  I learned a lot, but was so thankful to be back in my home where sometimes we share the road with a tractor or two.

This year, Ken also accepted a promotion that will begin as we ring in the New Year.  It will require more travel time, but the opportunities are great.  So proud of my guy!

As we close 2013, I am so thankful for our health, our close knit family and the many friendships that God has blessed us with.  Thank you dear friends for sharing our journey this year.
