This past weekend was our annual Christmas Ornament Party. We started this tradition 16 years ago. Each year we gather together and bring handmade ornaments to share. We share good food, Christmas cheer, contagious laughter and handmade goodness.
(No my twin sister and I didn't plan to look like alike... it just happened. Great minds think alike!)
Each year as we hang these special ornaments on our trees we remember the ones who crafted them, and the stories behind each precious ornament.
(My ornaments were inspired by Lisa Pace's Polaroid Ornaments.)
As our daughters got older, we included them in our tradition. It is so heartwarming to see their creativity and excitement each year. When they are all grown up and living on their own, they will be able to decorate their first trees with these lovely handmade ornaments.
(Not pictured is my niece, Becca, who wasn't able to be there, but her cute reindeer ornaments made it!)
No, our family Christmas trees may not be decked out with the latest fashion, a special theme, or expensive ornaments. Our Christmas trees (4) are adorned with beautiful, handmade ornaments from the heart that bring back wonderful memories.
Wishing you a wonderful day, sweet friends.
