Photoshop Friday - Using Shape Tool to Create Embellishments

Welcome to Photoshop Friday...  I have had so much fun creating these tutorials that I will be continuing Photoshop Friday here on blog for next month.  Last week I shared how a little bit about the Shape Tool in creating layouts, this week I am sharing how to use the Shape Tool to create embellishments for your digital artwork.

Begin by opening up all your files to be used along with creating your new file.  I used a 12" x 12" layout for my example.

Open up the pattern paper to be used.  I then clicked on the Shape Tool and selected the shape to be used.

Photoshop comes with many different shapes.  For this layout I choose leaves.

After selected the leaf shape tool drag the shape tool across the pattern paper file and then click OK.

Then click on the Move Tool to move the leaf to your layout.

Continue adding leaf embellishments by using the same process.  To add dimension to each of your leaves, I chose to add a Drop Shadow to each.  Click on each leaf then click on the Effects Pallet.

This then opens up your Effects Pallet, Click on Drop Shadow and then click on the desired effect.  Play with different effects, if you don't like it just click the Undo button at the bottom left.

Continue adding embellishments and text to complete your layout.  Make sure to save your file.

I hope you enjoyed another fun and easy tutorial.  Join my next week for Photoshop Friday!

I am also linking up with Jenn Rizzo's Fabulously Creative Friday.  Won't you join me?

Have a creative day, sweet friends.
