My Heart Smile..

January 28, 2013

My heart is always drawn to pieces with history...  the old, outdated and sometimes discarded items that most people don't want.

I love grouping items together to create a statement of who I am.  The black frame, my sweet sister gifted me.  I love looking at it with all it's imperfections and still seeing the beauty.

The crocheted bottle and doilie were made by my sweet Grandma.  She suffered Parkinson's disease for years that made her head and hands shake but was still was able to make beautiful crocheted pieces that our family treasures.

The spoon is one from my other beloved Grandma's collection that I can't bear to part with.  To know that my Grandma used this just make my heart smile.

What makes your heart smile today?

I'm smiling knowing that you got your creativity from your grandma. The crocheted bottle is so pretty! As is the doily and I like that little heart. I need to find my felt and get to sewing. :) Best wishes, Tammy

I understand those sentiments so very well, Sheila...beautiful. I have arrangements like that all around my house. Little spots of joy to me. Isn't it a blessing to have tangible bits of their daily lives to remind us of them?

Wishing you a beautiful day, dear friend...
