Farm Fresh - Lettuce

For the first time, earlier this year we started lettuce from seed. We gently laid each seed into the potting soil and place it into our little greenhouse  Each day, my family would gather around this little greenhouse to water if needed and anxiously wait for seeds to start sprouting.
Once it warmed up enough outside we transplanted our seedlings hoping that they would take root and start growing in the garden.  Being novice gardeners, it definitely didn't work out as planned.  Only two of the lettuce seedlings actually grew into full head of lettuce.

We are so proud of our first attempt and can't wait until the other lettuce seedlings start growing.  There is something so rewarding about nurturing and growing your own food and then serving it to your family.

The best part of gardening, is sharing our experiences together as a family.

I am linking up with Crafty Secrets Link Party today with my Farm Fresh Gift Bag.  Stamped images and lettuce image by Crafty Secrets.
