2 Dads

God blessed my twin sister and I with 2 Dads to love. One our biological dad, who has such great strength, yet has a gentle heart when it comes to his girls and family. Then my other Dad, the Dad my mom gave us when our parents divorced. He is the Dad that shows his love on his sleeve, that smothers us with kisses and hugs (even when we thought we didn't want them). He took us in and made us his own.

(sneak peek of the Dad's Album)

This past several weeks, I have been working on a Dad album for The Scrappy Gourmet and relishing in the fact that we have been so blessed to have 2 Dads. Divorce is never easy, especially on the children, but the greatest gift my parents gave us was never to see them fight. Today, they all get along wonderfully.

Even at 43 years old, it still effects us. But I realize now that after having 2 Dads for 40 years that God knew what He was doing. He had His plan and it was a good one. We have been blessed with 2 Moms, 8 grandparents, many aunts and uncles, 4 sisters and brother-in-laws and 8 nieces and nephews. So even tho divorce is never an easy thing, we are so very blessed....

I'll be sharing more of this album later this week.

No one wishes for divorce, but once in a while, good things can come from it. And you are lucky to have had parents--all of them--who handled it so well:)
P.S. The "dad" album looks wonderful!

How wonderful to hear such a loving story of divorce. When I was getting married the first time in 87 my parents were divorcing. My mom has never remarried and has lived in a black hole since then. And my dad married someone who has totally messed with his head. Neither of them speak to me or my brother. I've given that over to God -- as I know I've done nothing to warrant their actions. Your dad album looks so lovely. Have a fabulous day. :) Tammy
