Scrappy Jessi's Cookie Exchange

Each year our family gets together at my Mom's house for Grammy (and Grandpa's) Cookie Day. It is a special day with spent with family, friends, tradition and a lot of sugar highs! The kids get involved in making all kinds of yummy candies and cookies. One of our favorite cookies are Aunt Sherri's Sugar Cookies that all the kids get involved in making with Grammy
Sugar (Sugar) Cookies
  • 1 Cup Softened Butter
  • 1 1/2 C Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • 2 1/2 C Flour (not self rising)
  • 1 tsp Soda
  • 1 tsp Cream of Tarter
Mix softened butter, powdered sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract together. Mix in separate bowl flour, soda and cream of tarter. Then mix all together. Refrigerate overnight. Pull out of refrigerator and let come to room temperature.
Then roll out and cut into shapes and then add sprinkles, sprinkles and more sprinkles! Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
Cookie baking day is such a special time filled with so many wonderful memories of family, friends, love and cookie stealing by Grandpa.
We all look forward to it each year. This year in a few short weeks we will converge on Mom's house again to make cookies, fudge and a life time of memories!
Hope you enjoyed our little Cookie Exchange, head on over to Scrappy Jessi to find more lovely treats!

I see your kids apply sprinkles the same way mine do :) I love baking Christmas cookies with the kids...such wonderful fun! We're waiting a bit longer to start so that I, I mean we, don't spend the whole month stuffing cookies in our mouths :)
