Everyone Deserves a Second Chance

I just love the name of this store - Second Chance. It reminds me that you can find beauty in those slightly worn, beaten and distressed items that most people would discard without a second thought and purchase something new and cutting edge. So like today's society, when things get a little worn or dated, out it goes with the trash. Whether that is the broken table, a craft that didn't get made and is now out of date, those forgotten faces in old pictures or friendships that just get lost in the hustle and bustle of today's life. I know, I am guilty too of throwing away things and friendships that now I wish I hadn't. Maybe I am different from most, but what truly makes me happy is finding things that remind me of the past; those bits of lace, creamy buttons, lovely papers or worn out chair. They all tell a story of other people and their lives. Many things I purchase, create with and surround myself with remind me of sweet memories of those special times spent with my family and friends. As I wandered through this store, many treasures (and a few cats) were found as I took the time to really look and dig. It reminded me that life is way too short, family and friendships always deserve second chances.
As I get older, I feel like those slightly worn, gently abused items, that grace the shelves at Second Chance and hope that someone might just find a treasure when they meet me or visit my blog.

What lovely thoughts and oh so true. We live in a world that seems to think everything is disposable, sometimes even people. Very sad indeed! Love the photos and those are some lucky cats who certainly seem to have a charmed life at Second Chance. Blessings, :) Tammy
