So Proud of this Guy

This year marks Connor's 5th and last year in the Longhorns Football League. We have seen him grow from a flag player running down the sideline making that touchdown, to a blocking machine on defense and offense. Yes, you might notice that he is slight in stature (but "not the smallest one on the team this year, Mom", as he proudly told me recently). But what he lacks in size, he makes up in heart and determination. This year the boys have gone 7-0! With a record over the past 4 years of 27-9, and qualified for the 1st division playoffs 3 times. Wednesday, will be their last regular season game on our home field. We are playing for the division championship against the Raiders, that have won it every year for the past 5 years. Win or lose, these 6th grade boys have had an incredible Longhorn career. This game also marks the end for my DH coaching our son in football during regular season. It saddens me that this part of our lives are coming to a close. But where one door closes another one opens. Whether we win our lose Wednesday against the Raiders, I am so proud of both of my guys. I have enjoyed watching you both grow and learn. And Connor, I will forever remember your rolled down socks and trying to find them on the field! Love you buddy! Love you sweetie!
