They were so excited to start their new adventures. Each growing up way too quick for this Momma! As I drove them to school the excitement in the air was contagious, but as I got closer to school tears seemed to roll down my face. I knew that they would be alright. They were going to learn and grow more this year.
I tried not to cry, but the tears were of a Mom who knows that we are preparing them to leave the nest and fly. There will come a day when this nest is empty. Empty of their friends hanging out at our house, empty of a straightener being left on, empty of dirty clothes being left where they drop, empty of cleats that we trip over.... EMPTY.
So I wished them good luck as they got out of the car and waited all day for that call from them when they got home to tell me about their day. Each one of them had a great day filled with many exciting and new things. I felt a sense of relieve.
Today is better and they are up again excitely getting ready for school and I am OK as I am enjoying each moment with them.
Love you Buddy and Boo! We are so proud of you guys!

OH what a sweet post! I hate to think of the nest one day becoming empty....
It is a bittersweet time for Mom...but such an exciting time for the kids! I'm glad to hear Janna & Connor had a great first day:) Maybe the year will just drag by this time;) xo

In PA we have another week to go before the dreaded first day, but my son actually admitted it would be good to get back and see what's in store. That always means they're ready! I love how sweet you are to feel sad about summer ending for your kids.
Your children are beautiful! Thank you Sheila for coming by my blog the other day with such kind words. They were needed and very much appreciated:)
