Creating, Packing and Hanging

November 9, 2008

Today, I spent a wonderful day creating a beautiful Home for the Holiday's House to submit for the Maya Road contest. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and am very pleased on the outcome. I created with last year's Daisy D Christmas line of papers, blues, reds, greens and creams. Oh, I can't wait to show you what I have been up to.... Then I started doing my packing for Silver Bella. Oh, how I enjoyed getting together all the wonderful vintage embellishments, fabrics, vintage lace and all the trims for each of the classes I'll be taking. I am just bubbling over with excitement!! Then my DH hung these old drawers that I recently found at an antique store. I knew as soon as I saw them, I had to have them for my hallway near my studio.

I added some flowers that I had been collecting for my projects in a glass creamer that I recently got from Karla. I also, paired it with a chipped enamelware plate and then added a flower frog from my buddy Leah, then topped it off with a picture of Ken's dad and his brother and sister.

The second drawer houses a old muffin tin, for a project I want to complete, then a small glass pitcher (another item I got from Karla in a drawing), then I added another flower flog from Leah with a vintage bingo card and a picture of Ken's dad as a toddler.

In the third drawer, I added one of my very favorite pictures of my Grandma and my mom as a toddler. Then I added an old doilie, sugarer that has vintage pearl beads and tags. I enjoy surrounding myself with inspiration and especially pictures that mean so much to me.

What a wonderful day....

Busy, busy, busy...I just love what you've done with the old drawers! {ok, if taken out of context, that sounds rather silly}
