Weekend Ramblings

It is Sunday evening, very close to Monday morning as I sit reflecting on this past weekend. It has been filled with many blessings - my step mom got out of the hospital on Saturday after being hospitalized since early Thursday morning. She has been battling cancer for 7 months and had complications. Her good days have out numbered her bad. We are grateful for all the times that we get together as family. Going through this has really made us focus on what truly is so important in life - family and the love that we share for each other. Our hope is that we have many more wonderful years together spent making many more happy memories. We also were able to go down to my sister Shawna's house for our 4th of July picnic and swim party. It was a gorgeous afternoon filled with great food, sunshine, laughter and fun. We did end it short as Sammy's owners were picking him up after a week on vacation. We will miss Sammy, but it has been nice to only have 2 dogs - it is much easier walking them and taking them outside. Tonight we had our VBS at church. It is truly a blessing to see all the children have fun and learn about God at the same time. It is where even the adults can be kids again! Ken is one of the leaders and I am heading up the crafts (bet you couldn't believe that!). The children are all so creative. Well, I is late and I have to get up early for work. I am exhausted, but it is a good exhaustion. It is a good feeling to be able to fill my weekend with what means most to me my family and God.

It's great to see the good when it seems like there's so much "bad" all around.. happy for you today!
