Soldering Tips

January 16, 2017

Do you love creating beautiful wearable artwork that is a special part of who you are?
Do you love learning new techniques and capturing memories under glass?
Then learning how to solder might just be what you are looking for...
Did you know that there are two types of soldering?
1. Soldering with a torch, often called hard soldering or silver soldering.
2. Soldering with a soldering iron which is usually referred to as soft soldering.
Tips:  Soldering guns are not all created equal.  The most important things to look for is the tip style and wattage.  A minimum of 60 watts with a chisel-tip is recommended.  The pointy tips are designed for electronics, small jump rings and jewelry.

Soldering is a fun and easy way to create memories under glass.  Why not grab a friend and register today to learn fun new techniques to help you capture your memories at the Key to My Heart Soldering Workshop on Tuesday, Jan 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
Don't have a soldering gun?  No problem, we will have some available for you to use the night of class.  Come create this soldered necklace that you won't want to take off.
