Welcome to the August Crafty Secrets Linky Party and DT Challenge. This month the design team focused on Mixed Media. I created this cute chicken sign using Photoshop Elements.

Today, we will be focusing on adjusting drop shadows to your digital artwork. This is a fun and easy tutorial that will get you on your way to creating digital artwork that looks dimensional.
Start by creating a new artwork file and opening the files to be used. By using the move tool drag and drop the papers and elements into place.
Next select the layer of the element that you would like to add a drop shadow. Then select the fx Effects and choose the desired drop shadow to be used.
The program defaults to a larger drop shadow, so I like to adjust the drop shadow to make it more life like and less noticeable. Select the Adjustment Wheel on the Layers Pallet. Then use the sliders to adjust the size, distance and opacity.
Once the desired look is achieved click OK. Continue to add drop shadows to any additional elements. Save the file and print.
I trimmed my digital artwork to fit in the metal sign. Then added vintage button, lace and tea dyed muslin to complete it.
I hope you enjoyed another creative Photoshop tutorial. Join me on Friday for another Photoshop Friday, where I will be sharing more fun and easy Photoshop tutorials.
Now it's your turn! Visit each of the design team blogs listed below and leave them a sweet comment. Then create a NEW project of your choice featuring ANY Crafty Secrets product and link it up to the blog.
