Photoshop Friday - Adjust Color on Pattern Paper

July 17, 2015

Welcome to another Photoshop Friday fun and easy tutorial.  Today we are going to learn how easy it is to adjust the color of a digital pattern paper.  By having one pattern paper, you can adjust the color to go with your photos or theme of your layout.  You can't do that with a piece of pattern paper!
(Layout created with Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD)

Begin by opening the files to be used and creating a new file.  Next move your pattern paper to the new artwork file just created.
Select the Enhance drop down menu, then select Adjust Color and then Color Variations.  That will bring up the box below.
Here is where the fun begins...  Adjust the color by selecting the area of the image to adjust.  Then adjust the color intensity.  Finally select the buttons to increase or decrease color tone or select lighten or darken.
Continue to play until the desired look is achieved.  The above photo shows the difference between what the digital pattern paper started off as and then what it looks like with the adjustment.  You can then save the file as a new name if you would like to use in the future.
I hope you enjoyed another Photoshop Friday fun and easy tutorial.  Come back next week as I share some more Photoshop fun!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend, dear friends.

I love this! I love the way you repeated the focal image in the foreground and made it stand out by "stitching" it to a photo mat! I love the beautiful alteration of the paper...and the wonderful sense of nostalgia and love that comes from the finished piece. Your work really speaks to my heart, and I just love everything you do! I'm going to feature this on the FB page today.
