Welcome to Photoshop Friday... I decided to revisit a tutorial that I had posted last year on creating embellishments by using the Shape Tool. I hope you enjoy these tutorials and take time to play in Photoshop.
This week I am sharing using the Shape Tool in Creating Layouts. Won't you join me for another fun and easy tutorial?
(Layout using Crafty Secrets Creating Vintage Halloween CD)
To start make a new file to begin your layout project. I used a 12" x 12" layout.
Open the files that you would like to use and drag your first layer to your new layout file just created.
Click on your Shape and then on the drop down menu to select the shape that you would like to work with.
Drag the Shape Tool on top of the background paper. By doing this it creates another layer in your Layers Pallet.
Drag the desired pattern paper on top of the layout file.
For PC users hit Control G and for Mac Users Command G. At this point you can move and re-size the purple pattern paper to achieve the desired look.
Continue adding additional shapes using the same process.
For the picture I choose the rounded rectangle from the Shapes Pallet and then dragged and re-sized on the layout file.
Drag and drop the photo, just as you did the pattern paper elements. For PC users hit Control G or for Mac users Command G. Re-size and drag photo to fit inside the rounded rectangle shape.
Continue adding your elements and journaling to complete your layout page. Make sure to save your file once completed.
With each of these tutorials, if you don't achieve the look that you are wanting continue to practice until you achieve it.
Thank you for dropping on by for another Photoshop Tutorial. Have you been creating this week? I would love to see it. If you would like to share or have any questions or comments, please email me or comment below.
Wishing you a wondeful weekend!
