Photoshop Friday - Adjusting Effects

January 31, 2014

Welcome back to another Photoshop Friday fun and easy tutorial.  Do you like the effects of drop shadows and outer glows?   I love how these give dimension to digital artwork.  Did you know that you can adjust these shadows and glows?  This week I am going to show you just how easy it is to adjust the Effects in Photoshop Elements.

(Layout created with Crafty Secrets Digital Vintage Valentine Kit and assorted overlays and stitches)

Start by creating your digital artwork file.

Then select the image or text layer to apply the effect.  Then choose the Effects Pallet from the fx button below.

Then select the effect that you would like to apply.

I selected the Heavy Outer Glow.  This applies the preset glow in Photoshop.

To adjust click the Adjustment Wheel in the upper right corner.  It will then bring up the Style Settings Pallet.

Adjust the Size and Opacity levels until you achieve the desired look.  Then click OK to apply.

I encourage you to play around with adjusting the Effects.  The great thing about doing it digitally is that you can click the Undo button.
I hope you enjoyed another fun and easy Photoshop Friday Tutorial.  I am also joining Jenn Rizzo's Fabulously Creative Friday. Won't you join me?
Wishing you a creative weekend, dear friends.
