Crafty Secrets DT Challenge, Tutorial and Linky Party

January 6, 2014

Today, I am joining the Crafty Secrets Design Team Challenge.  Each month we join together to share our artwork and easy, fun tutorials.  Won't you join in the fun and inspiration?  You can find more information on the Heartwarming Vintage Blog.  Our challenge this month is to use the Crafty Secrets Free Printable Calenders in our artwork.

For the background paper I used the snow pattern paper from Crafty Secrets Creating with Retro Christmas CD and then used the Winter Wishes Digital Art Stamps for the snowflakes and super cute winter girl image.

To create the background pattern paper create a new file with the dimensions that you would like to create with.

Then change the color of the snowflake image.

Once you have the image the color that you want, you will then move it to your artwork file.

Continue moving and layering the snowflakes on your artwork file.  Once completed, save and print your image file.

I trimmed the artwork, then colored the image with colored pencils and inked around the images.

I added glitter, snowflake embellishments, lace and ribbon to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed this fun and easy tutorial. Come back this Friday for another fun Photoshop Tutorial. Hope to see you here!

Head on over to the Crafty Secrets Blog where you can link up and post a project you completed using Crafty Secrets products.

This is a beauty! You managed to make cold look inviting. Thanks for the tutorial. Every year one of my resolutions is to get more comfortable including the computer as an art tool. Sadly as you can see I haven't achieved it yet.

Happy New Year!

Learning to be a little more adept in the digital world is one of my goals for this year--I'll probably be hanging around your blog a bit to learn the ins & outs!

Wishing you a beautiful New Year, my friend!
