Photoshop Friday - Using Eraser Tool to Create Dimension & Texture

November 22, 2013

Welcome to another Photoshop Friday.  I will be sharing a fun and easy tutorial on using the Eraser Tool to create dimension and texture.

(Layout created with Crafty Secrets - Creating with Vintage Christmas CD)

Create your new artwork file.

Drag and drop the files onto the new artwork file.

Make sure the click the Eraser Tool and select the brush to be used.  Adjust the Opacity and Size of brush.  This may take some playing around with to achieve the desire look.

Make sure the select the layer to start erasing.

I selected the journaling image for this example.  Continue erasing until you achieve the look you like.  Remember if you have erased too much, click the Undo Button to undo.

On my finished layout, I also erased some of the some of the Santa tag to blend into the layout.

I hope you enjoyed another fun and easy tutorial.  I am linking up with Jenn Rizzo's Fabulously Creative Friday.  Wishing you a wonderful weekend, sweet friends.

Thanks for doing this digital tutorial Sheila! I have learned so much and love that I can go back and bring any of them up and try the technique myself when I have time. This erase tool post you did is great as I honestly had no idea how to do this and have often wanted to make words and designed more distressed and worn! I'm going to add it to our Pintrest Tutorial Board
