Motherhood...

April 19, 2013

This time in my life as a mother is so bittersweet.  To see my kiddos start to test their wings outside of our nest.  To know that all these years we have given them roots so that when they fly (and fly they will), they will hopefully have the solid foundation needed to fly high.

This year, as Janna attended her last high school prom it really set in that our lives as we know it with our baby girl is coming to an end.  The talks in the kitchen, wanting to go grocery shopping with her dad, the mornings she brushes her teeth in our bathroom (yes we have 3 bathrooms but she choices ours... and I love it).

Seeing the pictures of my young lady that is so ready to fly...  I know this mom is going to have to allow her the room to do just that.  But my heart aches for that little baby girl who held our fingers before she could hold our hands and smiled up at us with a toothless grin.

As Janna is wrapping up her senior year and we address her graduation announcements (thank you Traci for these!), this school year is coming to an end and so is our life as we know it now.  The life where all four of us are under one roof.  In a few short months this young lady will be at college and learning to fly on the path God has for her.  Through all the ups and downs of this path called motherhood, I am so incredibly blessed by it all.

Boo, I am so very proud of you and so extremely blessed to be your mom.  Love you!!

It's such a wonderful time of life, isn't it? And you just don't know how your heart could still swell and break all at the same time...so excited and so wishing to be able to do it all over again.
