Digital Tutorial - Crafty Secrets

April 12, 2013

I am just loving playing with all the new digital elements Crafty Secrets.  Whether you want to print them out or create digital artwork they are so easy to work with.

Today, I want to share an easy tutorial below on using Photoshop to change the color on png files.  Whether you are creating  digital artwork or just wanted to print it in a different color, this tutorial will show you how.  I am no expert by any means, but I hope these easy steps will get you on your way to creating beautiful digital creations.

Open your png file that you would like to change.

I choose one from the Crafty Sewing Basket Digital Art Stamps.
Click to Edit and then Click Fill Layer.

Click the Color drop down.

And then choose the desired color then click OK.

Make sure to click Preserve Transparency...  this is a very important step.

The color has been changed. You can now either add it to your digital artwork, like I did above in my digital scrapbooking layout or print it out.

Sweet friends, I hope this inspires you to create a little digital magic.

This is a gorgeous layout. Quick question: Do you have to use PhotoShop to do this, or can you use Paintshop? Thanks!

Love this tutorial .. I read one similar a week back but theirs had a lot more steps to get to the same end. I love the simplicity of your tutorial.

Your layout and design is just beautiful !

Great tutorial Sheila, it's perfect for all the beginner ladies and they can apply the same idea to digital stamped cards. This is one reason I like digital, you can have a spectrum of colors to choose from and you don't need to buy or store a bunch of ink pads!

Thanks for sharing. I just added it to our Tutorial and the Sewing Boards on Pintrest.

Kathy, I couldn't find a way to contact you regarding your question, so I am commenting here. I don't have Paintshop, but it appears from their website that you should be able to do the same thing with the digital designs as what you can do in Photoshop. Give it a try and let me know if you can. Thanks popping in and commenting!
