Forget Me Not...

January 25, 2013

By creating pieces of artwork for my home, I combine vintage treasures, some cherish heirlooms to remind me each day what an incredibly blessed life I have.

I made this Forget Me Not piece years ago.  It is one that is so dear to my heart.

It is a gentle reminder of two beautiful women who touched my life from the day my dad married my "other" mom.    To Grandma Long and Great Grandma Middleton (her mom) my twin sister and I were their grandchildren.

I remember special times eating ice cream with Great Grandma.  (One of her favorite treats!)  And all the special birthday lunches with my Grandma.  The talking, laughing and just spending time together.

Great Grandma, I am so thankful that you raised your daughter to accept others with an open heart and that you opened yours to us.  And Grandma for you always showering us with your love.  I love and miss you both so very much!

I will never forget ...

That is absolutely beautiful! You are re-kindling some of those ideals that I had when I was a young mom, but didn't have much time to create those special things!

Thank you! I was wondering though, how is the picture and seed packet secured? Are they glued?

How very sweet and I do love sentimental journeys. Forget-me-nots were my Grandmother's favorite flower. Blissful memories...
