With the extreme cold that Missouri just got hit with yesterday and the fact it is almost November my thoughts are turning toward Christmas.
(It also helps when I am designing a little something for Christmas too!)
This year, I am anxiously looking forward to it. Maybe it is because Christmas makes me so happy... hearing the beautiful music, the smell of fresh baked Christmas goodies and all the family traditions that we hold so dear.
This year, I am preparing to entertain at my house for Christmas and it being Janna's senior year I want this to be so special.
So I am starting early making my lists (and checking them twice), getting cards made, menus planned...
and the house spruced up for Christmas. Yes, because I work outside of the home, the Christmas decorations will come down from the attic right after Halloween so I can leisurely pull down the fall decorations while cleaning and put up the festive Christmas decor.
In my younger days, fall decorations came down and Christmas went up in my house in less than 2 days. I was up at before the sun rose puttering, cleaning and then up way too late those days. Now that I am older, I want to enjoy it more.
That's at least what I tell myself. I no longer want to move at break neck speed anymore. And because we celebrate our Thanksgiving at my sister's house each year, I don't mind that mine is already decorated for Christmas since I host one of our favorite parties the weekend after Christmas with a dear friend and her girls!
This weekend, I will be making my ornaments for our annual Ornament Party along with enjoying a little Christmas planning. I might even be playing Christmas music... Shhhh...
don't tell my hubby!
If you are interested, this Christmas Keepsake Box and Card Kit is available at The Scrappy Gourmet. It will definitely put you in the Christmas mood and get a head start on those Christmas Cards!
Are you getting ready for Christmas too? Please tell me I am not the only one!
Wishing you a beautiful day, sweet friends.
