Memories in a Bowl

For many years, summer wasn't complete without my "other" mom's famous strawberry shortcake.  The delicious cake warm from the oven and served with fresh strawberries and half & half.  Each bite of pure sweetness.
This past week, I was missing her and decided it was time to make her delicious shortcake.  As we enjoyed each yummy bite, I remembered all the times spent at my dad's house, gathering as family and enjoying this treat that my "other" mom made. 

Grams' Shortcake
2 1/3 Cup Bisquick
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Milk
Mix well.  Should be the consitency of cake dough.
Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Yummo! One of my best friends made small cakes from a recipe like this for my 40th birthday. I prepared a sit down dinner for 20 people with the help of a few friends. Strawberry shortcake for dessert is always a winner! I made blackberry apple crisp yesterday and it was delicious with vanilla ice cream. Hope you have a great new week. Tammy

Yum! That looks so good!!! When I was growing up in California we had a local Strawberry festival and my favorite thing to get was fresh strawberry shortcake with real cream. Its amazing!!!
