A Favor

January 25, 2011

There are some people that touch your life with a small gesture, a kind word, or a gentle touch. Those people, if only for a brief moment can impact your life forever. Two years ago at Silver Bella, I met a beautiful kindred spirit, that with her bright smile and kind words seem to bring a ray of sunshine. This past year, we again shared a table during one of classes at Silver Bella, and her beautiful smile, kind words and amazing strength is what I still remember. Then shortly after we returned home, I found out devastating news, that her darling husband had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. My heart sank and I cried for her and me, as that awful disease is what my dear “other” mom fought valiantly for several years before God called her home. She and her DH has gifted me with getting to know them during this difficult time. Even though I have never met her DH, he has impacted my life by his faith in God and his beautiful heartfelt writings during his journey. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t pray for Suz, Jud and Kat (their daughter). They have blessed my life and I hope that in some small way I can repay the favor.

I believe that prayer is so powerful, so I ask a favor of you my dear friends, please pray for them.

So sorry to hear about your friend's husband. Cancer is a horrible thing. My father in law passed from it almost 7 years ago. Having a strong faith helps so much. I will pray for your friends and you as well.

The ornament journal is beautiful and I know Suz appreciated your thoughtfulness so much. You too are a kind spirit and a blessing to all who cross your path, Sheila...

Lovely thoughts and feelings as we travel through our journey and those of our friends... Friends are always precious blessings to one another as we help through the hard ships that also accompany the good times... Thinking of you and your friends... Blessings

Hi Sheila, I'm glad to hear that your son is fine. I had a stomach bug several weeks ago and it was just awful. I hadn't been sick lik that in such a long time.

I do think about Suz and Jud quite often. They are very inspiring in the way that they are handling what they are going through, staying positive. I pray God's blessings.

Best wishes, Tammy

Sheila,
I was so excited to see that you had posted (I use the Google Reader) and literally read the first two paragraphs before I realized you were talking about me :-)

You are too kind, my dear. Thank you for your lovely comments about me. I will try to let them sink in.

Pancreatic cancer is such a hard disease. We are doing everything we can. There are blessings along the way and among them is a dear woman who blessed me with the most incredible scrapbook to tell the stories of my beloved Christmas ornaments. This is something that s an heirloom and Kat will someday receive it...and the ornaments! This is the first peek I have had. Sheila, I am so teary right now. It looks so beautiful and so special. I am overcome with thankfulness and so glad I could say "yes" to this wonderful gift.

I am going to go show the rest of my family...I know they won't believe it. We are teaching my in-laws the "joys of the internet" and "blogging." This will be a perfect example of the caring that comes through the blogging community (and the Silver Bella community, too).

Thank you with all my heart!

Love,
Suz
