Fun Technique

March 4, 2010

I just love the look of Tim Holtz’s vintage film strips. The aged golden coloring teamed with the black, it reminds me of simpler days. Last night, while finishing up my projects for Tattered Angels I recreated that look on Tattered Angels Glimmer Glass by using my trusty Van Dyke Brown ink pad and Rock Candy Distressed Stickles.

By inking up the back of the Glimmer Glass with Van Dyke Brown Ink (which it doesn’t stick to the Glimmer Glass since it isn’t a permanent ink), then rub some Rock candy Distressed Stickles on the back. This spreads the ink across the Glimmer Glass giving it the aged golden coloring. Heat set with a heat gun then swipe with Black StazOn Ink to distress.

Visit Tattered Angels blog tomorrow to see addition glimmer inspiration.

Hope you have a creative day.
