Holly Jolly Magic

December 18, 2009

Now that the kids are older, they really are putting the holly and jolly into this Christmas season. They are helping this Mom out by decorating the house, wrapping the gifts and baking Christmas cookies. I have learned that it may not be how I would do it or look exactly how it would have looked if I had done it, but they are enjoying creating a little Christmas magic.Last night before I got home, the kids excitedly made the peanut butter Reese's cup cookies. What they failed to remember was that these are made in the mini muffin pan, so they were a little flat. It didn't matter, but what mattered was the memories and oh the yummy goodness!
So this year as I struggle to keep the holly and jolly in this Christmas season with my other Mom not here, they are creating a little holly, jolly Christmas magic for this Mom.
Boo and Buddy,
Thanks for helping me. It gives me such delight to see the excitement and Christmas spirit in your eyes. I couldn't have done it without you. Love you guys!!

And flat cookies taste just as good :) We're going to do some baking ourselves this weekend!

How wonderful that they want to help. My 11 year old also wants to help decorate and bake cookies, but yikes, I still don't know about that. He sorta throws the decorations at the tree and would need a good scrubbing before I let him touch the cookie dough. HA! It's his job to clean up all the ornament mishaps caused by Jingles the cat. :) Love the cross-stithing ! I haven't cross-stitched in so long. Have a great weekend. :) Tammy

As long as the cookies taste yummy, I bet no one will care what they look like:) So glad you have those holly jolly helpers to bring you Christmas cheer!
