Gram's Wreath

November 30, 2009

We had a blessed Thanksgiving filled with lots of family, food, love and togetherness. One thing was missing and it filled our hearts with sadness... it was our beloved Grams (my other mother). Every year, for as long as Janna has been born, my Dad's side of the family would travel to Schmidt's Tree Farm to cut down our Christmas tree's. As our family grew, our traditions grew. It started with a tree and them Grams would get wreaths to hang outside the house to welcome in Christmas visitors.

My daughter, Janna, felt it in her heart that she had to keep that tradition for PaPa. So this year, Janna picked out that wreath to grace PaPa's house. A little piece of Grams' tradition so beautifully hung outside PaPa's house to welcome guest and family... the tradition continues by the next generation.

Grams we miss you!

The loss of loved ones is always felt that much more during the holidays...I really do think keeping traditions alive does help ease the pain a bit...

Janna it was so sweet that you wanted to keep that tradition going and I know PaPa also was surprised and happy to receive that beautiful memory of Grams.
