The Little Girl Who Almost Got Away

September 11, 2009

Last weekend on our antiquing adventure to Rusty Chandelier, I saw this little girl in a frame. Isn't she the cutest holding her little Halloween pumpkin? I know that she has had a lot of wear and tear, she is a copy - not the original, blurry and out of focus, so I picked her up and then decided against her... she was only $6. As we meandered in and out of the other booths, my thoughts returned to that little girl. I took a break from antiquing to head to the bathroom and passed her once again making a mental note to pick her up on my way back. You know you can't take merchandise into the bathroom! It must of been that I was focused on finding my dear friend Leah again, but I passed her up once more without picking her up. As we both headed back to the cashier and I made a trip back for her, much to my disappointment she was GONE! We searched high and low, hoping someone had picked her up and set her down somewhere else. Then my dear friend suggested that I ask about the booth owner to see if she could contact her and get another copy... Yes, I could get a copy of her! Thank you Leah, as I would never have thought about asking. Now I am enjoying this little girl and can't wait to use her in some of my Halloween creating and decorating.

I've never seen an antique picture with Halloween stuff in it! That seems SO unusual! What a marvelous find! Lucky you!
