I Never Thought

August 29, 2009

I would return back to fabric and thread as one of my favorite past times. When I first got married before, I did counted cross stitch. You know the kind, the ones that if you didn't follow the pattern you could definitely tell there was a mistake! Oh, how I remember the hours that I worked on these masterpieces just to rip them out when I made a mistake. Now, with the lovely stitchery pieces of Rebecca Sower, Pam Garrison and Teresa McFayden it has given me a new lease on creating artwork with fabric, needle and thread again. I don't follow a pattern, I follow my creative heart. Not as much ripping out as before! And, I have enjoyed visiting fabric and needlework shops (and especially my Mom's sewing room scraps) to get inspiration and ideas to begin creating again with fabric and thread. The great thing about this art, is that I can take it on the go. So whether I am sitting waiting my kids at sports practice, sitting waiting for the game to begin, or sitting during my lunch at work, I can be stitching. These are just some of the fabrics that I will be using for some upcoming Silver Bella Swaps and Artsy MaMa's Sweet and Sinister Swap. Can't wait to show you what I am creating!
