Holding On

May 12, 2009

Last night we attending 5th grade to 6th grade transition night at the middle school. It was an exciting time for Connor. He got to tour the middle school, meet the teachers and have cookies and refreshments. But for me, it has been an emotional time. Time to reflect on how big my baby boy is getting, and how I want to hold onto each moment I have with him. Just yesterday, I remember him crawling across the floor, then "mowing" the yard with his Fisher Price Lawn Mower as he followed behind his dad and now growing into a wonderful young man that enjoys sports and school. To me he will always be my baby. As we were leaving Janna, gave one of her teachers a hug and said she would miss him when she moved up to high school next year... and I silently wept inside as she too is growing up way too fast. I want to hold onto these moments forever. Love you Buddy (and Boo)!

What a doll, Love those freckles!!
Tonight is Jesse's middle school to high school introduction night. I had a very hard time with the elementary to middle school one. Not so much this time. It will be nice having both kids in the same school again! Hang in there!

These milestones are SO hard. Last year my oldest son went into 9th grade and it was such a hard time. Your boy is SO cute! Good luck to him (and you) this coming year! xoxo

Connor is a cutie!
They'll always be our babies, even when they're 6'5" and towering over us

I know exactly what you mean, my boys are 26, 27 and 29 years old and it seems like yesterday when we were walking down the street skipping to "lions and tigers and bears, oh my!"....I was Dorothy, our Irish Setter was Toto and the boys were the rest....seems like yesterday.

What a handsome son!

Oh to hold on!! My baby is 26 and getting married this summer. I too remember the Fisher Price lawn-mower. But something so wonderful happens when you have adult children that you have given a firm foundation in the Lord. They rise up and call you blessed. No Regrets my family grows! Have a wonderful summer with your children!!!! Meg

It is so wondeful seeing them grow up into these little people...and so hard to see the little child going away. I have tears once a week because my youngest (2 1/2) won't really be a baby much longer. What a handsome boy you have.
