Broaches

May 18, 2009

This weekend I worked on some special presents to be presented to my mom and sisters. Recently, my mom had given me some of the watches she had worn since 8th grade, each of them unique and beautiful in their own way. And just knowing that my mom had worn each of these watches made them just that more special.
I lovingly created some broaches using these watches, vintage lace, old buttons and inspiration from Ms Foof and her Bellarama Ezine.
On Sherri's broach I included a satin button and some lace from her wedding gown.

My mom's included her very first watch, her 8th grade graduation watch that she was given by her parents.

My mother was so excited to see I had completed these treasures, one for her and each of her daughters. The best compliment of all was she wished Grandma could have seen what a treasure I had created from the watch that she and Granddaddy had given so long ago.

The watch brooches are just lovely! What a great way to continue to enjoy those old timepieces! I may root through my jewelry box and see what kinds of treasures it might yield...;-)...K.

Your mother is very lucky to have such a loving daughter, and, as for your sister, what a nice thing for sisters to treasures.

Nice job.
