Saturday, Leah and I spent a wonderful time creating some more Bella and Somerset inspired projects. I am so pleased with the outcome of all of these projects. The first one is a silverware holder that has a picture of my mom, aunt and granddad sitting around the kitchen table eating with other family members. It is a reminder of all the family times we spent around my beloved grandma and granddad’s table eating homemade pizza, laughing, talking and just being together. Oh, what wonderful memories… The second one we painted old frames and put chicken wire in and then bent and hung old forks to hang bracelets and charms from. We then created memory mirrors that we ordered from Rebecca Sower after seeing her beautiful mirrors in Somerset. These are pictures of my husband’s parents and my parents together. Then the one that I enjoyed creating more than anything was a memory collage under glass of Ken’s parents. For all of you that may not know, Ken’s parents both died by his 9th birthday. He doesn’t have a lot of pictures or memories of his parents, so this was a way to display some of the precious things that we do have from his parents. The picture is the only one that we have of his parents together. We also included a postcard that his mom had sent to his dad, his dad’s memo pad, watch, stamps and letters from his collection, the gems that his dad had been cutting and polishing and the ring that Ken’s dad had made for him before he died. Then I put a picture of the four of us in the little photo pin to complete. We proudly display it in the living room. It even got our kids questioning about their grandparents that they were never able to meet, and the Ken telling them about the memories he does still have of them. Connor said “I wished I could have known Grandpa George” after seeing it. I too wish I could have met them.

Creating memories with a friend...what could be more fun? Thanks for spending Saturday with me. I think the collage under the glass cloche is my favorite, too:)
